Thank God for being sane...

My visit to the mental hospital brings me here to share my experience with others. i was in a state of depression on entering the huge building of the mental asylum. it seemed as if its walls would just swallow me up. The place holds psychiatric patients from all over Pakistan with all kinds of problems, from major depression to schizophrenia; from mental retardation to personality disorders. It seemed as if the whole world was in a state of some kind of a psychological disease. All around me were patients moving from here to there. Shouts, screams, shrieks and cries for help brought tears to my eyes. I felt like the most privileged yet the most ill amongst them. the looks on their faces, the intensity of emotions in their eyes, the deteriorated condition of their clothes had taken away all the happiness away from me. One thing they longed for was a smile...imagine just a smile..
